How does your website fund itself if it's FREE?
This is currently being funded primarily out of our pockets whilst we get the website off the ground. The business plan on this has changed slightly over time whilst we get a feel for things. Currently our attention is being drawn to affiliate marketing, like Google Adsense, that you can see down the sides of listings pages. We also offer a Premium exposure service for your listings having them appear on top of the most visited pages, which you can learn more about here
Why does your Advertising Agreement mention Fees?
The Agreement outlines in part the rules and responsibilities for publishing information and images on our website. This website is completely FREE to list on - there is a facility to use by choice that requires fees (our Pay Per Click feature to list on top of selected pages) and why fees are mentioned in the agreement. This choice is entirely optional and not on by default.

Will my registered details be kept private?
Will my email address be used by you to send unwanted emails?
Your email address will be used to send you the usual account activity information like when you have added new listings and forgotten passwords etc. It will is also be used by us from time to time to let you know how the website is progress - this of course can unsubscribed to by logging into your account, going to the 'Account details' link and setting 'Unsubscribe' to 'No'.
Unable to login / forgotten password?
Simply browse to our homepage www.thingstodonearyou.co.uk, locate the 'Advertisers' section on the right hand side, bottom of the top box you will see a 'Forgot Password' link. Click this, enter you email address and click the 'Email Password' button.
How do I submit my Event, Venue or Activity?
To submit your event you first need to register, which can be done by browsing to our homepage www.thingstodonearyou.co.uk, locate the 'Advertisers' section on the right hand side, locate the second box down where it says 'New Advertiser? Sign up - it's FREE!' and enter your details. Once registered you can add and edit up to 250 listings, to learn more click here.
Can I Link to my website from my listing?
Yes you can, each listing has the ability to add your websites address.
If I add my email address to a listing will it be hidden from spammers?
Yes it will. Your email address will not actually be shown on your listing, all that will be seen is a contact us link. When click on an area will display allowing users to email you directly via our internal email system - so your address will never be known.
Why is my new listing not showing on the website?
When you first create a listing the 'Status' will always showing 'Pending Authorisation', as we unfortunately need to check all listings. We aim to turn around your activation within 24hrs.
Why is my listing not appearing at the top of search results?
Listings on our website are always shown in random order to give everyone a fair chance of getting noticed. If you would like more exposure for your listing you can take advantage of our premium exposure feature, which you can learn more here…
Can I upload documents like .xls, .doc, .pdf?
You can only upload .jpg and .gif images. There is no reason why if you want to display your .doc, .xls, .pdf why you can not convert them to an image - we can do this for you, simply contact us with the details.
Can I link my promotions into your website?
Yes you can, this is a fantastic feature that allows you to tie in your promotions into your listings by way of displaying a unique voucher your customers can return. This serves a dual purpose of attracting customers to your event, venue or activity, as well as monitors the listings success.
What happens to my event when the date runs out?
When adding a listing you set a start & stop showing date, as well as setting the date your actual event maybe be on. When your start & stop dates full in the future and/or in tha past, your listing moves to the 'Forthcoming & Expired' tray under the 'Listing Manager' when logged in. This is to allow you to come back at a later date and simply change the dates to redisplay the listing without having to type it all over again.
How do I get my listing to appear on those four slots on the top of your pages?
This is our premium feature slots and it's very easy to add. This feature runs on pay per click, so basically you only ever have to pay anything once someone has already taken interest in your listing. The slots are all bided on, so you just set your cost per clicked based on what position you want it to show. You can set a daily limit and your account never goes into negative credit. To activate this, edit your listing, go to the 'Advanced' tab and click 'Feature'.
I have loads of listings to add, time is a factor, is there an easy way to do this?
There are a few options, are available to you. The first being a 'Duplicate' button which basically allows setting up templates for your listings, maybe they may all have the same address or images etc. If you have a website that regularly displays your listings we may also be able to use that, please contact us for details.
