WATFORD ASIAN COMMUNITY CAREUnits 64/68, Wenta Business Centre, Colne Way, Watford, WD24 7NDWe run 4 luncheon clubs per week: * Tuesdays at the Multi Racial Community Centre, Watford from 11.00am to 3.00pm. * Wednesday at Aberford Park Community Centre Borehamwood from 11.00am to 3.00pm. * Thursday at the Parish Council Hall, South Oxhey from 11.00am to 3.00pm. * Fridays at the Holywell Community Centre, Watford from 11.00am-3.00pm. The luncheon clubs are for Asian elders, disabled people and carers who care for friends or family members. The basic idea is to give Asian carers a break from caring responsibilities so they can attend to their own needs. They are welcome to join us at our luncheon clubs and/or send the person they care for to our luncheon clubs. At the luncheon clubs we provide exercise sessions, lunch, and facilities to engage in playing games, drama, discussions on matters of health and social care. We also have the services of a carer support worker who networks / out reach works in the Asian community to identify hidden carers. We are also interested in developing carer support activities for Asians suffering from mental health problems i.e. reflexology etc, and celebrate Asain health events as part of National Carers Week to benefit our users.
