TESSA COLE - PAINTER / SCULPTOR (BERKHAMSTED)Dagnall Farm, Dagnall, Berkhamsted, Herts, HP4 1QZArtistīs Statement: īLiving at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, my inspiration for drawing and watercolours is drawn from the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Watercolours, along with sculpture, my other medium of choice, form the majority of my work. Having trained at a time when life modelling and drawing formed a dominant part of the curriculum, my sculptures are based on the human form, and include many portrait commissions, which can be cast in cimentfondu, various resin mixes or into Bronze. Awards: 1992 - Dacorum Arts Trust Prize for a watercolour; 1968 - Feodora Gleichen Award for Sculpture. Commissions: 3 portrait busts of 3 sisters 1998/2001/2004; Portrait bust of 5 year old boy 2003; Portrait bust of 6 year old boy 2003; Portrait bust of 6 year old boy 2005; Group of children 2005; Dancer. Exhibitions: Off the Wall Art Market, Bucks County Museum - 2004; C2 Gallery, Stoke Hammond - 2004; Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries London - 2003; Herts Open Studios - 2004/2005; Bucks Art Week - 2003/2005. Qualifications: 1963 Pre-diploma year at Goldsmiths College; 1964-8 4 year course at City & Guilds of London Art School - Fine Art Diploma with Distinction; City and Guilds Bronze Medal for Sculpture.
