QUEEN MOTHER THEATRE (HITCHIN)Woodside, Walsworth Road, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG4 9SPThe Theatre is situated in Woodside Car Park, Walsworth Road, Hitchin and is the home of the Bancroft Players. There are two areas available for hire. Weddings, parties, religious and political bookings are NOT accepted. AREA 1 - The Theatre: Seats 171 people. Seating is retractable for floor events. Dressing rooms and technical support are as would be expected for a theatre. Box office, bar and interval refreshments facilities are provided. The theatre is fairly soundproof and equipped with appropriate sound and lighting. Catering can be arranged. AREA 2 - The Studio: The Studio is about 8 metres square and is available for classes. It is fully fitted as a small performing area, 40 seats. Booking office: Tel 01462 455166 (answerphone service). Open Monday-Friday (except Wednesday lunchtime) 12.30-1.30pm; 8.00pm-9.00pm. Costs: Theatre hire is typically around £250.00-£300.00 per day with all facilities provided. Studio hire is £12.00 per hour or £80.00 per day. Please visit the web site for further information. Directions: Theatre is in the corner of a large car park approximately half way between the railway station and St Mary´s Church on the Letchworth-Stevenage road. Accessibility: Good disabled parking, a well-lit car park and entrance, wheelchair ramp; some automatic and wide doors; toilet for the disabled; hearing loop. Accessible to a wheelchair user travelling with assistance. Facilities: Large car park for which there is no charge after 6.30pm.
