PLAYHOUSE, THE (HARLOW)

Playhouse Square Harlow Essex , CM20 1LS

The Playhouse has played host to thousands of popular stage and TV names, in nationally acclaimed productions and pre-West End shows. Today it continues its reputation for quality drama, dance and music, offering innovative new works as well as much
loved classics.

The Playhouse has two theatres. The Main Auditorium seats 400 with a two band seating arrangement.

The Studio Theatre holds a maximum of 160, and provides a more intimate setting. This is the regular home to local amateur dramatic groups as well as small scale professional touring companies.

Encouraging children to experience the arts, The Playhouse has strong links with local schools, colleges and community groups. It offers shows with an educational slant to provide often the very first taste of theatre to children as well as a learning experience.

Each Christmas the Playhouse presents a traditional Christmas Pantomine. Produced by a fully professional team, the Pantomime continues to be the largest community panto in the UK.
