JANIE GRAHAM - CRAFTSPERSON / CERAMICS / TEXTILES (ST ALBANS)16 Corder Close, St Albans, Herts, AL3 4NHJanie works in a variety of materials adapting traditional and contemporary craft techniques to produce unique and elegant ceramic pieces. She has developed a highly personal aesthetic language exploring the idea of memory and the connative potential of textiles or stitch patterns which she uses to embellish her work. Work this year included small hollow oval ´containers´ supporting hand crafted silver pieces - an elegant combination of materials, but most recently, more functional boxes which are variously carved and pierced. These include a range of black and red boxes suggesting oriental influences. Others are more subtle with floral designs and soft green celadon glaze. Janie works from her studio at home.
