HITCHIN TOWN BOWLS CLUBThe Pavilion, Bancroft Gardens, Hitchin, Herts, SG5 1LLMeets at Bancroft Gardens, Bancroft, Hitchin, Herts. Contact for Hon sec for details of club fees. We are a fully integrated Mixed club, and outdoor activities take place between April to September annually. during the summer playing season the club plays in friendly games afternoons weekdays and afternoons weekends Saturdays and/or Sundays. The club also participates in a weekday local evening league. Club roll upīs take place Monday, Wedesday and Friday afternoons as well as Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Lady members are eligable to play in the North Herts Womans Bowling Association or Herts County Ladies competitions or matches. We are currently seeking additional Lady members in order to once more play in Ladies District and County Leagues. Gentlemen members are eligable to play North Herts Mens League games evenings, as well as Letchworth & District or Herts County Mens competitions or matches. There is opportunity for club members to enter other major competitions and tournaments. Junior Bowling: The Club is actively encouraging under 18īs to take up bowling and offers free club membership and use of bowls to all under 18īs. Under 25 club members are eligable to enter special under 25 National and County competitions. Coaching and Instruction: The Club has qualified English Bowls Coaching Society Instructors available to assist anyone. These services are available for beginners new to bowls or more experienced bowlers who wish to improve their skills. Club Facilities: The Club has a licensed bar, and the Club House is open daily during the summer season April to September. Friday evenings winter and summer the Club house is open for social use. New members welcome - for social side or playing bowls ! Directions: Bus to Bancroft junction with Nightingale Road or by car to the public car park adjoiningBancroft Gardens. Accessibility: The Club House has disabled access and there are toilet facilities for the disabled adjacent to our pavilion. Contact: K Porter (Hon Sec)
