KALEIDOSCOPE FESTIVALWelwyn Hatfield Ethnic Minority Group, 88 Town Centre, Hatfield, Herts, AL10 0JWKaleidoscope Festival is a community event organised by Welwyn Hatfield Ethnic Minority (WHEM) Group for the benefit of the people of Welwyn Hatfield and the surrounding areas. The purpose of this free, one-day event is to provide an opportunity for local people from diverse backgrounds to come together and celebrate the area´s rich cultural diversity. The continued success of the festival is achieved and maintained by having a large variety of information stalls, dance and music, art and craft, food from around the world, activities for children and young people, amongst others. The festival´s mission is to be the premier cultural diversity celebration event in Welwyn Hatfield and the neighbouring areas. To achieve this, the festival aims are: o To bring together the people of Welwyn Hatfield to celebrate the area´s rich cultural diversity o To contribute towards a community where people from different backgrounds feel they all belong and can come together to celebrate a shared sense of belonging o To support communication, interactions and engagement between all sections of the community, particularly between local Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) citizens and service providers o To promote community cohesion and respect between people of different backgrounds by providing a friendly and relaxed opportunity for people to come together and learn from and about each other o To provide an opportunity for local people to make a positive contribution towards their community by acting as volunteers, exhibitors or performers For details about the event, including how to be a sponsor, stall-holder, or volunteer, please visit the festival´s website at www.kalfest.org.uk Registered charity number 1110122 Ends....
