ENGLISH BRASS GROUP13a High Street, Colney Heath, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0NSThe Group holds monthly Sunday evening rehearsals, 7.15pm-9.15pm in Prince Edward Hall, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. The Brass Ensemble consists of 8 trumpets (including flugels), 4 trombones, 2 euphoniums, 4 horns, tuba, bass guitar, drums, percussion and sometimes a vocalist. Also occassional Quintet rehearsals. The group consists of mostly adults over 16 years old but talented young people are welcome. The groupīs aims are to improve reading and performance of challenging music of all types and styles - Classical, Jazz, Big band, Swing, Pop, Operatic and Show music. Most of the players are above Grade 8 but keen and talented players will be encouraged. Newcomers are always welcome to sit in when places are available. Vocalists are also welcome along with composers and arrangers. Annual tours have included USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Holland, Czech Republic and Denmark. The Group is available for Festivals, Concerts, Weddings, TV Recordings, Schools and Educational activities, Carnivals, Rallies, Beer Festivals and various other functions. Date of AGM: November.
