DENISE ALLEN, ARTIST (BRAMFIELD)Bramfield Village Hall, Bury Lane, Bramfield, Hertford, Hertfordshire, SG14 2QHDenise Allen is a local artist working in a variety of media, including watercolour, which she teaches, and oils. Art classes. The following watercolour classes are in Bramfield Village Hall. They take place from 10am to 12pm, and are £8 per session. There is no need to book, just attend as many sessions as you can. For further information call Denise Allen on 01992 581769. Bring your own equipment. 23rd September 08- Artists Materials. Using pens, pencils, paint and brushes, we will create a still life. Bring extra materials that you can set up in front of you. 30th September- Summer to Winter. Taking a summer landscape, and some imagination, we will use the information to paint a typical winter scene. 7th October- Loose and free paint and ink. Using loose washes, and a little imagination we will create some interesting landscapes. 14th October- Safari Landscape. Working together we will create a safari landscape. 21st October- Christmas Cards. We will paint some ideas for your Christmas cards. 28th October- Autumn Leaves and Berries. Depending on what is still in the hedgerows, we will paint the glorious autumn colours. 4th November- Reflective surfaces. Looking at distortions and reflections. 11th November- Landscape. Working together we will create a simple landscape. 18th November- Tea time still life. Tea cups, spoons, and maybe even scones and jam! 25th November- Monochrome to colour. Working from a monochrome reference, we will create a colour painting. It will be interesting to see how they all vary. 2nd December- Flowers. Mostly working from photos, this is still a very popular subject. 9th December-Snowscape. Working together to create a lovely winter scene. 16th December- Christmas Feast. The traditional end of term class. There will be sweets, nuts, mince pies and oranges. You can eat what you like, providing you have painted it first! Followed by a pub lunch for those who have room. One day workshops. These take place in Bramfield Village Hall. Booking essential. Wednesday 22nd October - Winter Woodland. 10 am to 4pm. £35 each including light lunch. Working together, we will create a landscape. Acrylic Wednesday 8th October- Flowers 10 am to 4pm. £35 each including light lunch. Using texture and colour to create beautiful flowers. Friday 7th November- Seascape. 1pm to 5pm. £22 each. Working together to create a lively seascape. Painting Holidays Art Menorca Painting and Drawing holidays I would like to introduce you to the secret Menorca, a surprising and unspoilt gem in the Mediterranean. I have been painting professionally for nearly 20 years and teaching watercolours for over 5 years. I will show you tips and techniques and gently guide you through your painting holiday. Suggested media is watercolour, but feel free to work in pastel, pencil, charcoal. Whatever your preference, you will return with a full sketchbook and a sense of achievement. Suitable for all levels. Friday to Friday. We collect you from Mahon airport and transfer you to the hotel. The cost covers full board accommodation in a 3 star hotel, with air conditioning, bar/coffee lounge, sun terrace, swimming pool and evening entertainment. Also includes transfers to and from Mahon airport, minibus travel as required to each destination for painting and daily tuition. Flights are not included in the package. Jean and Brian Picton had been running Art Menorca very successfully for about 10 years. Now Jean is extremely busy with her painting, and the time came to step back from organising and running the painting holidays. As we are good friends, Jean asked me to keep Art Menorca going, and continue into the future. In September 2007 I went out with them for a familiarisation and handover, and will do my best to make your trips as enjoyable and educational as Jean did.
