Anyone can take part - whatever your age or ability. We have both an 18yd indoor range and a 150yd outdoor facility designed for archers looking for a local, friendly shooting facility. TAWUK provides events to help everyone from the complete novice to the experienced archer. We will be running coaching sessions, courses and ‘how-to’ activities throughout the year. All our staff are archers and offer support and advice to all fellow archers from novice to the most experienced. The ranges are available for individual and group hire and they are ideal for one-to-one personal improvement sessions as well as parties, corporate events or youth group activities. Our focus will be on helping archers improve their skills and knowledge. We have a showroom with a good range of stock including a comprehensive traditonal range of equipment. Christmas grotto On Saturdays 15 and 22 December come and have a fun shoot in Santa’s grotto. Shoot six arrows with our bow - score on our target - and win a prize. £1 for 6 arrows. Mince pies and sherry - free. Then be on target with an archery party. Archery can be done individually – or set up as a team event to give the party a competitive edge. There is a range of target faces and archery games to play. These can be tailored for children’s or adult parties – and even for stag and hen parties. Beginners Courses Courses for newcomers to the sport are available. This four session course shows you how to shoot safely and means that you meet a standard of competence so that you can join a GNAS affiliated club. Archery technique Advice and help on your archery style and your archery equipment offered to all archers. One-to-one personal improvement sessions are available with a GNAS qualified coach. You can look for general improvement or focus on particular aspects of your technique. If a few of you want to attend together, then small group sessions are also available. Price: £25 per hour for one person £40 per hour for two £66 per hour for three £80 per hour for three Archery equipment To achieve the best bow performance and best arrow flight your bow needs to be tuned. Bring your equipment to us and we will work with you to get your bow working towards its optimum. Price: £25 per hour Corporate Entertainment Archery is an ideal activity for team building, staff rewards or motivation. It can also be used for staff family days, to entertain clients or just as a fun event at staff parties. With the support of trained archers you can master the sport quickly – so everyone gets involved early on. And EVERYONE can take part – it doesn’t matter what size, age or level of fitness. Arrow making for beginners Tuesday 22 January 6.30pm This short course is for anyone who wants to make their own set of wood arrows for the first time. The evening will show you how to attach nocks and points, use a fletching jig and how to cut the arrows to length. You will leave at the end of the evening with at least one completed arrow plus all the parts and tools required to finish the rest of the set. The course leaders will also explain facts about arrows - spine ratings, points, fletches and the archer’s paradox. Youth Groups Archery is great fun for all ages. It is particularly good for youngsters as it helps develop their concentration and discipline, and gives them a sense of achievement. We can take groups of young people for 1 to 2 hours at a time. This can be as a one-off event, or we can organise a programme of sessions for them. We can provide mini-certificates for each child so that they have evidence of the training they receive. If they have a course of 10 hours – they can be assessed and receive a GNAS recognised certificate which would mean that they could join a GNAS affiliated archery club. Archery is a sport which can be grasped relatively quickly with the right guidance. This gives them the motivation to want to continue with the sport - and there are few children who don’t love pretending to be Robin Hood or Maid Marian.
